Why Visitors Keep Coming Back To Orlando

Orlando, Florida is a top vacation destination for many reasons, one of which is its astounding array of Theme Parks. Orlando also has the best Orlando Pest Control service. With Disney World, Universal Resort Orlando and SeaWorld all within reach, visitors to sunny central Florida have no shortage of activities to explore. Plus, Orlando is home to some of the best shopping anywhere, as well as great live shows and an abundance of nightlife offerings. Orlando is one vacation destination where visitors never have to wonder “What next?”

In July, Universal Orlando Resort and Disney World were both lauded by Theme Park Insider for their respective theme park offerings. Universal Orlando Resort won Best New Attraction for their brand-new The Simpsons Ride, which is a visually astounding ride taking passengers on a journey through the cartoon-world of the Simpsons. It is an incredible ride that one has to experience to really understand! The ride hit the one-millionth rider tally in just two months, making it the resorts fastest ride to ever reach that mark. This incredible number demonstrates visitors excitement about the new ride.

Universal Orlando Resort was also awarded Best Theme Park Restaurant for Mythos, their Lost Continent area restaurant, featuring fresh, contemporary cuisine. Mythos has won the title for six consecutive years.

More information was also leaked regarding the new Harry Potter development at Universal Orlando Resort. A new ride, shop and eatery are part of the top-secret development and will take over the area previously occupied by the Flying Unicorn Roller Coaster, Dragon’s Keep Store, Alchemy Bar and Enchanted Oak Tavern. The 20 acre area will feature versions of Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade Village and is scheduled to open late 2009 or early 2010.

Disney World won Theme Park Insider’s Best Theme Park Hotel for their Animal Kingdom Lodge, the third time they have received this honor for this unique lodge. Designed to incorporate the feel of an African-Safari environment, the lodge is located on 33 acres and features an array of free-roaming, exotic animals.

During the month of July, more details were also revealed regarding Downtown Disney developments. As mentioned earlier in the summer, the 120-acre area, now known as Pleasure Island in Downtown Disney, is undergoing vast changes, which now include the addition of a tethered balloon that will take visitors up 300 feet for spectacular views of Disney. Also announced was the addition of the T-Rex Café, a dinosaur-themed café for families, as well as new specialty shops, like a Hanes make-your-own t-shirt store. The Portobello Yacht Club will be transformed into Tuscan Country Trattoria this summer, and the refreshed menu will feature authentic Italian cuisine. Fulton’s Crab House and Wolfgang Puck Café will also undergo changes, which are largely concentrated on their design rather than their menus.
